Showing Everyday Faith
By Edd Sterchi

  • The respect you show God and His Word on Sundays says a lot about your faith in Him.
  • The Attitude you show the world on Mondays says a lot about your faith in God.
  • How much time you spend reading your Bible and in prayer on Tuesday says a lot about your faith in God.
  • The number of brethren you visit with on Wednesdays says a lot about your faith in God.
  • The opportunities and resources you utilize in helping the needy on Thursdays says a lot about your faith in God.
  • The amount of energy and frequency you use teaching/telling others about Jesus on Fridays says a lot about your faith in God.
  • Where you go and what you do on Saturdays says a lot about your faith in God.

Now, I realize that all of these pertain to every aspect of our Christianity every day. I just thought it would be a way to help us realize that we are to take up our cross daily and follow Jesus
(Luke 9:23). Do you sacrifice for Christ daily as Paul did (1 Cor. 15:31)?

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith, prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates” (2 Cor. 13:5).

As the above article indicates, what we show the world around us says a lot about our relationship with God. (Matt. 5:16) We cannot worship God on Sunday and forget Him rest of the week and expect forgiveness of our transgressions. As Peter said in 2 Peter 2:6, God turned Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes as an example for the world to see. There are those who dispel the events surrounding these two cities but denying them does not mean it did not happen.

We need to examine ourselves as God said to make sure we are doing what God commanded. (RC)
