The Best Self-Help Book

By Tom Moore

A while back the Associated Press evaluated 400 self-help books

which were written in that year. They concluded the oldest and

best of the how to’s of happiness are in the original self-help book

– the Bible.

The apostle Paul declared, “All scripture is given by inspiration of

God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect,

throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). The

apostle Peter proclaimed that the Bible “hath given unto us all

things that pertain unto life and godliness” (2 Pet. 1:3).

The Psalmist said, “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the

soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the

commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of

the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are

they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey

and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and

in keeping of them there is great reward” (Psa. 19:7-11).

If you want to improve your life, if you desire help in overcoming

your struggles, and if you are wanting to excel – then spend time in

the word of God.

Think About It!
