What Are We Going To Do Now?
By Kerry King
We have just completed our gospel meeting with Welton
Stoker! It was thoroughly invigorating
to hear the gospel preached in pureness and simplicity! Brother Stoker brought six lessons pertaining
to the gospel message. The reason we
preach the gospel is so that people will believe and obey. For without hearing there can not be an
understanding of what needs to be done on our part to accept the grace that God
has given us (Rom 10:9-17). The gospel
plan that we need to understand is simple:
Jesus Came
Jesus Suffered
Jesus Died
Jesus Was Buried
Jesus Rose Again
It is by the grace of God we have such a great
opportunity to serve a risen Saviour (Titus 2:11-14). We therefore have the honor to be called the
children of God and also have the responsibility to reach out to others with
this wonderful message of salvation (Mt 28:19-20; Mk 16:15-16). The question now is “What are we going to do,
now?”
Over the past few months we have started sending the
House To House/Heart To Heart publication to every household in the Tom Bean
area. I am encouraged by recent account
of a member of the Tom Bean community who told a member of the church that they
enjoyed reading the publication each and every month! It is time we began, as a congregation to
start talking to people about their soul salvation and the need to study the
Bible.
The fact that Jesus was willing to leave the glory of
heaven and suffer the atrocities that led to His death on the cross, should
motivate the members of this (and all) congregation to embark on a campaign to save
the lost! It is time to leave our
‘comfort’ zone and venture out into the work that Jesus left us with. So, the question is:
What Are WE Going To Do Now?
